As an Electrical Engineer in the energy industry, you could design, install and maintain all the electrical systems and components that keep a production facility going. You could be developing new systems to generate and distribute power, planning a programme of ongoing repairs or identifying requirements for new electrical systems to help the facility produce and process energy.

Electrical Engineers might work onshore or offshore and will spend some time being office based as well as working directly with systems and equipment. You will likely work as part of a larger engineering team, either for a company who owns an energy production facility or a specialist contractor or consultancy.
